Video Memories
Here's a special moment from the 1999 tour. In December of that year, Vince Charles did a CD signing in Worcester, Mass. Afterwards a little impromptu Christmas jam erupted in the lobby bar/restaurant.
It was documented as a pair of movie files made on an early digital camera, and the quality is about on a par with the Zapruder film. But its sentimental value makes up for its dim view, tiny window and grungy sound. You'll need Quicktime to play these clips, but you already have that, don't you? If you don't, click on its name in the last sentence and download it so you can join the fun.
Mike Livingston is the fellow playing the guitar, and Vince is playing a set of specially-tuned water glasses from which he had to sip to get the exact pitch. If you knew how much Vince hated to drink water, you'll appreciate his effort here. And if you were there, and can recognize yourself in these clips, then your eyesight is far better than mine!
For extra fun, try playing both videos simultaneously. It’s a lot like being there.
